Lessons Learned from Dahni, The Eyeless Wonder Cat
Dahni has no eyes. And we don't tell him. The lessons about life we have learned from our eyeless wonder cat have changed our lives and we think you can learn from Dahni, too.
Dahni came to us through a friend, a blind kitten full of rage and fury. It took months of work to encourage him to be slightly loving, and very slowly he became our favorite boy, traveling with us on 12 airplanes across Europe and the United States. He even got to spent two weeks in a convent with me! He traveled with us in a motorhome across Spain for six weeks while we waited for the Iraq War to end, and stayed by our side constantly as love and companion. We hope you enjoy learning some of the profound life lessons we learned from our eyeless wonder cat.
Cat on the Road
Taking your cat on the road can be a pleasurable experience for everyone, even the cat. Cats have to be acclimated to riding in cars. It's a slow long process, but once they are used to it, and learn how to determine which vehicle is yours, how to get in and out, and how to behave in the car. It's an amazing process. We've trained three of our cats to not only ride in the car, but also on airplanes. One cat would even go with me into movie theatres, but he was exceptional. The process begins by having both the cat and owner learn a few tricks and skills to make life on the road fun for all.
Traveling Blind Cat Dahni is Famous
Article in Hebrew about our blind cat, Dahni, and his amazing abilities to be more than just a normal cat. The English translation is found at Learning Life Lessons from a Blind Kitten.
Traveling Blind Cat Dahni is in the News
Yep, Dahni is famous. Impressed with Dahni after a visit, a friend told her daughter, the magazine writer, about his accomplishments. The daughter called me for an interview with Dahni - and me. A few months later it was published in the Ma'Ariv Children's Magazine which is published weekly in the national Hebrew newspaper. Here is Brent's translation of the Hebrew article for your enjoyment.
Toshi’s Tails
Toshi has tons of tales to tell and things to share with you about being a kitty living on the road full-time. Unfortunately, he likes to sleep 80% of the day so it takes a while to get any work done.
Toshi, our long-time traveling furry friend, helps the traveling pet and their owner maximize the experience for everyone. Toshi has been back and forth across North American with us, and he has a long history of traveling adventures to share with the traveling pet. This is his own section, so enjoy his tips and tricks for the adventuring fuzzy person. He is joined by other fuzzy friends we've had along with us during our travels, especially Dahni, the eyeless wonder cat, who recently traveled through four countries and more than 12 different airports.
